Survivor is one of network television's first mainstream reality television shows. The show is produced by reality television mastermind Mark Burnett and has been hosted every season by Jeff Probst. For over six years, Survivor has delivered 15 seasons filled innovative challenges, shocking twists, and drama-filled tribal councils. The show pulls castaways from various walks of life and leaves them stranded in a foreign land. Some of the exotic locations include the Australian Outback, Mayan ruins in Guatamala, and currently an isolated province in China. In each episode, contestants compete for rewards that include amenities, things from home, and immunity from being voted off the island. The losing team must vote off one member until only one survivor remains. This winner receives a million dollars and the title of sole Survivor. The show has featured many memorable characters including Richard Hatch and his naked antics, the lovable Rupert Boneham, the conniving Johnny Fairplay, and everyone's least favorite survivor Jerri Manthey. There were even a few couples made on Survivor, like Jenna Morasca & Ethan Zohn and Amber Brkich & Rob Mariano. Survivor spearheaded the reality TV revolution and is still going strong.
