There is some talk about ABC's Wife Swap after Fox's carbon copy Trading Spouses made it on the air first, but both shows guarantee family drama and interesting occurrences. Wife Swap is based on the British show of the same name. It explores the family dynamic by taking two mothers from vastly diverse, usually opposing, family types and swapping their lives for two weeks. For the first week, the visiting mother must follow the rules that her new family lives by. The second week there is a "rule change" where the new mother gets to establish a set of rules that her family normally lives by. In the end, both families usually learn a few things about bettering their family lives. Many times they even change for the better. As with any reality show of this nature, there is usually the prerequisite fighting, screaming, and tearful breakdowns, but more often than not each episode ends with the family committing to bettering their lives.
