Don't Forget the Lyrics

Don't Forget the Lyrics is a new game show hosted by popular television personality Wayne Brady, best known for his long run on the improvisational comedy show Whose Line is it Anyway? where he brought down the house with his off-the-cuff song lyrics. Now he hosts a show about remembering the "right" lyrics to classic and popular hit songs. Contestants pick from a variety of musical genres and then sing along in front of a large karaoke screen. The contestants get to choose the song title, artist, and time period but once they start singing they have to remember the lyrics. When the music stops the contestant must shout out the correct lyric from the song in front of thousands of screaming fans and millions of television viewers. There's a live band on stage to make the contestants sound their best, and Wayne Brady offers the occasional musical clue and over-the-top accompaniment. Don't Forget the Lyrics combines the interactive host-contestant rapport of Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader? with the rhythm and musical verve of classic Name that Tune and the comedic antics of Whose Line.
