The Sopranos

The Sopranos is HBO's smash hit show about fictional mafia boss Tony Soprano, played by James Gandolfini, and the many conflicts he encounters as he tries to balance family and his crime family. He seeks help from the ladies in his life -- his therapist, Dr. Jennifer Melfi played by Lorraine Braco (Goodfellas) and his wife Carmella (Oz's Edie Falco). The Sopranos is one of the most successful series in television history, having won 18 Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes, in addition to major critical acclaim. Over six seasons, The Sopranos follows Tony as he is forced to accept his gifted but rebellious daughter Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Siegler), his bitter and manipulative mother (Nancy Marchand), his jealous uncle Junior (Dominic Chianese) who will do anything to take Tony's place as mob boss, and his own personal fears and weaknesses.
