The OC explores the affluent lifestyle of the Newport Beach/Orange County area of California. Lawyer Sandy Cohen and his real estate executive wife, Kirsten Cohen, take in first time offender, Ryan Atwood, to save him from a life of crime. They bring him into their privileged world of fancy parties, beaches, and ritzy mansions. Ryan Atwood and their son, Seth Cohen, instantly become friends. He also develops a close relationship with troubled ingénue Marissa Cooper and her friend Summer Roberts. The four teens become a major part of television history with their partner swapping, struggles, and witty tongue-in-cheek dialogue.
