Pushing Daisies is a new high-concept dramedy on ABC about a man who has power over life and death. Ned (Lee Pace, Wonderfalls) discovers as a small boy that he can bring dead things back to life with one touch. The catch is that if he touches them a second time they die all over again. As an adult, he uses his power to make everlastingly fresh fruit, and opens up a pie shop. Given the nature of his abilities, Ned does not get close to anyone, and keeps his distance from beautiful waitress, Olive Snook (Kristin Chenoweth, The West Wing, Wicked). His careful life takes a dramatic turn when private detective Emerson Cod (Chi McBride, Boston Public) discovers Ned's secret. Emerson blackmails Ned into reviving murder victims to identify their killers. With this information, Ned and Emerson solve the case and collect the reward money. Things get more complicated when Ned's childhood sweetheart Charlotte (Anna Friel, Timeline) is murdered. Ned revives her, but doesn't have the heart to send her back. Charlotte becomes a partner at the pie shop and together they find a way to nurture their love without touching, while solving murders on the side.
