ER

Before House was exploring new realms of disease and Grey's Anatomy was having drama in the operating room, NBC's ER was exploring the lives of emergency room doctors struggling to balance the grueling pace of their careers and their tumultuous personal lives. The show has also recruited established actors like Joy Luck Club star Ming Na. ER has won 22 Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series in 1996, and has had 117 Emmy Award nominations sharing the record with NBC's Cheers for the most nominations in any genre.

ER is a suspenseful medical drama created by best-selling author Michael Crichton.
