Without a Trace is yet another procedural crime drama airing on CBS. This time around the focus is on a team of New York F.B.I. agents who specialize in tracking down missing persons. Every episode the team constructs a "day of disappearance" timeline for the missing person. Their goal is to get into the head of the victims to predict where they went. Cases range from victims of serial killers to simple runaways, but the solution always relies on their crack profiling techniques. The team is led by seasoned Senior Agent Jack Malone (Anthony LaPaglia, Murder One), and includes good-looking but complex Samantha Spade (Poppy Montgomery, Dead Man on Campus) and Vivian Johnson (Marianna Jean-Baptiste, 28 Days), a no-nonsense family specialist. The squad is also assisted by Danny Taylor (Enrique Murciano, Miss Congeniality 2), a street-smart investigator, and intense straight-man Martin Fitzgerald (Eric Close, Now and Again), who harbors an addiction to prescription drugs.
