So You Think You Can Dance is Fox's incredibly popular reality dance competition created by American Idol's Simon Fuller and Nigel Lythgoe. Like American Idol, the show holds nationwide auditions in search of the next big dance star. After turning down thousands of hopefuls, the contestants are narrowed down to ten men and ten women who must compete for the grand prize of $250,000. In the past, other prizes have included an apartment in Manhattan overlooking Central Park and a role in Celine Dion's Las Vegas show! Cat Deeley hosts the show, while the dancers are judged by Nigel Lythgoe, film and television choreographer Mary Murphy, and several guest hosts, which include the show's choreographers Dan Karaty, Mia Michael, and Shane Sparks.
