What's New on InstantCast?

Q: I logged on to InstantCast today and noticed a bunch of cool new features on my talent profile. Fans, Favorites, My Rank Today. what are all of these and how can I start using them?

A: We're glad you noticed! InstantCast has been busy adding a lot of great new features to your profile and throughout the site. We've listened to your requests, and now we're delivering. To get you started, here is a quick list of the new InstantCast features and how you can make the best use of them:

  • Favorites

    What can I add as a favorite?
    All kinds of great InstantCast content including Casting Articles, Ask InstantCast articles, The Essentials: TV articles, Talent Profiles, Photos, and My Casting Videos.

    How can I add a favorite to my profile?
    Just click the "Add to Favorites" button on any of these pages. You can find the button at the bottom of our article pages, at the top of talent profile pages, and under all photos and videos.

    How do I edit my favorites?
    Go to "My Profile" in the toolbar, click "Edit My Profile," and click the "My Favorites" tab. There you can view and manage your favorites.

  • My Fans

    How does someone become my fan?
    InstantCast members can visit your talent profile and click the "Be My Fan" button under your main profile photo. Once they click this button, their photo will appear in the "My Fans" box on your talent profile.

    How do I become their fan?
    If you want to become their fan, just click on the "Be My Fan Too" link under their photo in your "My Fans" box, or click the button on their talent profile.

    How do I edit my fans?
    Go to "My Profile" in the toolbar, click "Edit My Profile," and click the "Fans and Fanmail" tab. There you can view and edit the members who you are a fan of. When you delete a member, your photo will no longer appear in their "My Fans" box. However, once someone becomes your fan, only they can edit their status as your fan.

  • My Rank

    What does my rank mean?
    Your rank represents how active you are in the InstantCast community compared to other members. The more you use the site, the better your rank will be. The closer you are to one, the better.

    Why do I want a good rank?
    If you rank in our top twenty, your profile will appear on the "Member Gallery" and "Search Members" pages where casting directors can find you first. When your rank goes up, you will be seen first, and will have a bigger chance of being discovered by the pros who can cast you.

    How do I raise my rank?
    You can improve your rank by doing the following on InstantCast:

    • Upload Photos to Your Talent Profile
    • Upload a Video to your Member Profile or to My Casting Videos
    • Send Fanmail
    • Become a Fan
    • Vote in the Superstar Talent Search
    • Read Articles
    • View Videos
    • Share Content
    • Get traffic to your Talent Profile
    • Receive Fanmail
    • Receive Fans on your Talent Profile

  • My Videos

    How can I upload a video to my profile?
    Go to "My Profile" in the toolbar, click "Edit My Profile," and click the "My Media" tab. There you can upload and manage up to six of your best videos and reels. Once they are uploaded, they will be featured on both your talent profile and the "My Casting Videos" page. You can also add these as your favorites.

  • My Details

    What's different about the "My Details" box?
    We've added a number of new fields for you to enter more of your personal features and information. Casting directors could use this information to decide if you are right for a part.
    To edit your details, go to "My Profile" in the toolbar, click "Edit My Profile," and click the "About Me" tab.
