Whoopi Goldberg (born
Caryn Elaine Johnson on November 13, 1949) is an American
actress,
comedienne, and
television host.
She is one of only thirteen
persons who have won Academy, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Awards. In 1990, she became the second
African American female, after
Hattie McDaniel, to win an
Academy Award for acting for her performance in the film
Ghost. She has also won two
Golden Globe Awards and two
Saturn Awards.
