Tami Erin (born
Tamara Erin Klicman on July 8, 1974) is an American
actress and
model from
Wheaton, Illinois. Tami began acting and modeling at 8 years old after signing with
Elite Model Management, one of the world's leading agencies. She's best known in over 18 languages as
Pippi Longstocking of the
Columbia Pictures film
The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking.
She was selected for the role of "Pippi" out of over 8,000 actresses worldwide for her talents including acting, singing, dancing, gymnastics/tumbling and horseback riding. Career highlights include appearances on
Good Morning America,
The Today Show, and
Entertainment Tonight. Her acting coaches have included
Jeff Corey, Acting Coach to
Jack Nicholson and
Dustin Hoffman as well as with Molly McCarthy of Lee Strasberg's Actors Studio, NYC.
She served as a
UNICEF Jr. Chairperson/Ambassador, an annual
United Nations appointment. Working with
UNICEF, she spoke internationally on behalf of the United Nations. She continues to act with her most recent film appearances being in
Kill You Twice,
Disconnect,
The Little Rose, and in
A.G.E.N.T.S. a computer-animated cartoon from Giant Wonder in 2007.
