Slik were a
Scottish pop,
glam,
bubblegum and
soft rock group of the mid 1970s, following in the footsteps of the
Bay City Rollers. In this band, future
Ultravox frontman,
Midge Ure, began in the
music industry, before going on to make
New Wave music.
The band followed the style of
teenybop bands like Bay City Rollers, in the mid 1970s, getting two
hits in
Europe, but their success, like many of their contemporaries at the time, was interrupted by
punk rock, which led to their disbandment.
