Rodney Carrington (born October 19, 1968 in
Longview, Texas) is an
American stand-up comedian and comic
musician. He is 6'0 1/2 inch comedian who is full of hilarious, yet vulgar humor. In addition to recording six major-label albums of stand-up comedy and
country music, Rodney Carrington was the star of the
ABC television sitcom Rodney. Carrington is also a frequent guest on
The Bob & Tom Show. He also appeared in the
music video for
Trace Adkins' 2007 single "I Got My Game On", and starred alongside singer
Toby Keith in the 2008 film
Beer for My Horses.
Multi-million selling recording artist and comedian Rodney Carrington continues to shine in 2008. He is back on tour full time after starring two full seasons in his own TV show on ABC called Rodney. But he is still finding time to work on exciting new projects. He recently finished filming on a major motion picture, Beer for My Horses, which he co-wrote and co-starred in with country music star Toby Keith. The movie debuted in theatres nationwide in August, 2008, and on CMT on November 2, 2008. Beer for My Horses is expected to be released on DVD on November 11.
He also co-starred in the hit music video by Trace Adkins,"I Got My Game On", which won three awards on the 2008 CMT Music Video Awards, including "Male Video of the Year," and "Video Director of the Year" for Michael Salomon. Rodney was nominated for, and won the category "Supporting Character of the Year" for his role. Future plans for 2009 include the release of another album on Capitol Records of just songs expected to debut in the first quarter. The album is produced by Toby Keith. The first season of the ABC TV show Rodney will be released on DVD in February of 2009.
