Estes first became interested in an acting career while training to be a
stunt double
. One of his first acting jobs was in the

Days of Our Lives
playing Glenn Gallagher (1986–1987). He later gained widespread recognition for his role as Sergeant Chris Lorenzo in
Silk Stalkings
(1991–1995), half of the "dynamic duo" alongside
Mitzi Kapture
