Mo'Nique (born Monique Imes; December 11, 1967) is an American television hostess, comedian, and actress.

Early life

Mo'Nique was born in Woodlawn, Baltimore County, Maryland. She is one of four children born to Alice Imes and Steven Imes Jr. Mo'Nique graduated from Milford Mill High School in Baltimore County.

Before obtaining success in her chosen career, Mo'Nique worked as a phone sex operator. She was in charge of monitoring the phone call conversations.The Oprah Winfrey Show, Interview with the cast of Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. Original air date January 28, 2008.
