Mia Sara, is an
American actress, best known for her roles as Ferris Bueller's girlfriend, Sloane Peterson, in
Ferris Bueller's Day Off, as
Jean Claude Van Damme's wife Melissa Walker in
Timecop, and as Lili, playing opposite
Tom Cruise in
Legend.
Early life
Sara was born in Brooklyn Heights in New York. Her father was a photographer and artist, and her mother a stylist and also a photographer. She attended
St. Ann's School, both elementary and high school, graduating in 1985.
Career
Sara got her first major role as Princess Lili, playing opposite
Tom Cruise in
Legend. Her popular role came as Ferris's girlfriend in the 1986 film
Ferris Bueller's Day Off. She also appeared in the miniseries
Queenie, a
roman-à-clef on actress
Merle Oberon, as well as 1992's
A Stranger Among Us, directed by
Sidney Lumet. For
Timecop, she won the
Saturn Award for
Best Supporting Actress.
