María Isabel Rivera Torres (born 1952) is a
Galician (Spain) actress.
She was born in the City and Naval Station of
El Ferrol, in
Galicia, North-western
Spain. Though she started her career as an
actress in the 1980s it was not till the dawn of the new century that she achieved broad notice, for her lead
actress role in the
Oscar winning Best Foreign Language Film 2004 The Sea Inside.
This
actress is not only brilliant when it comes to the
performing arts but she is magnificent when it comes to mastering foreign languages as well. Apparently, she can speak fluently, not only
Galician,
Spanish and
Catalan but
English and
French too though up to different degrees of proficiency.
