Cote de Pablo (born 12 November 1979) is a
Chilean-
American actress and
recording artist. De Pablo has been
nominated for the
ALMA Award, landing a permanent role in the television series,
NCIS. She has also embarked on a career as a
songwriter and
vocalist.
Early life
De Pablo was born
María José de Pablo Fernández in
Santiago, Chile,
to an upper-class
Catholic family. (Coté is a common nickname for María José in Chile). When de Pablo was ten, her mother, María Olga Fernández, received a job in
Miami,
Florida, at a
Spanish-speaking
television network. There, de Pablo attended
Arvida Middle School, New World School of the Arts (where she studied musical theater), and then
Carnegie Mellon University where she studied music and theater and appeared in several plays. They include:

Indiscretions,
The Fantasticks, and
A Little Night Music. She graduated in 2000.
