novelist. She is most famous for her portrayal of
Princess Leia in the
original Star Wars trilogy.

Fisher was born in
Burbank, California, the daughter of the singer
Eddie Fisher and the actress
Debbie Reynolds. Her paternal grandparents were
Jewish immigrants from
Russia.
