Charles Quinton "Charlie" Murphy (born on July 12, 1959 in
Long Island, New York) is an
American actor, comedian, and writer, best known for his role on the sketch-comedy series,
Chappelle's Show. He is the older brother of famed actor and comedian,
Eddie Murphy.

Murphy was born in
New York,
New York. His mother, Lillian, was a
telephone operator, and his father, Charles Edward Murphy, was a transit police officer and amateur comedian.
