Jake T. Austin (born
Jake Toranzo Szymanski on
December 3,
1994) is an American
child actor, who stars as
Max Russo, the youngest of three wizards, on the
Disney Channel Original Series,
Wizards of Waverly Place. His parents are named Giny and Joey Szymanski. Austin also performs the voice for Diego, the lead character in the show
Go, Diego, Go!, which is shown on Nick Jr. He has also provided voices for the animated movies
The Ant Bully and
Everyone's Hero, and appeared in the
Disney Channel Original Movie,
Johnny Kapahala: Back on Board,
The Perfect Game, a sports drama about a little league team from Mexico, which becomes the first non-US team to win the little league world series. During filming, he became close friends with his costars,
Jansen Panettiere and
Moises Arias. He also recently finished filming
Hotel for Dogs with costar
Emma Roberts. He is of Puerto Rican, Argentine, and Polish descent.
