Robert "Bob" Einstein (born November 20, 1942, in
Los Angeles, California) is an American
actor and comedy
writer best known for his portrayal of the fictional stuntman
Super Dave Osborne. His parents were
Harry Parke and
Thelma Leeds. His younger brother is actor
Albert Brooks, and his older brothers are Cliff Einstein, an advertising executive and the late Charles Einstein, a writer.
Einstein got his start writing for
The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour for which he won an
Emmy Award. The writing team also included, among others,
Steve Martin. He also appeared on the show as Officer Judy. He also made early appearances on
Mister Rogers' Neighborhood with
Fred Rogers.
