Anne-Marie Johnson (born July 18, 1960) is an American actress and impressionist who has starred in film and on television. She is perhaps best known for her role as high school educator Althea Tibbs on the NBC/CBS television drama In the Heat of the Night. Anne-Marie is the current First Vice-President of the Screen Actor's Guild. Biography

Johnson was born in Los Angeles, California. Her first role was as Aileen Lewis in on the 1984 NBC comedy series Double Trouble. After the 1985 syndicated series What's Happening Now!! (as Raj's wife Nadine Hudson Thomas), she became well-known for portraying Althea Tibbs on the NBC/CBS television series In the Heat of the Night from 1988-1993.
