Ada Maris (born in 1957 in California) is a Mexican-American actress. She was born Ada Marentes and has been married to actor Tony Plana since 1988. They have two children.

Career

Maris made a big splash on an episode of The Cosby Show playing the girlfriend of a community-center director played by Tony Orlando. This was supposed to be a pilot for a series centered on Maris and Orlando, but it was never picked up by the network. She then went on to play Nurse Gina Cuevas on Nurses for its entire three-season run in the early 1990s.

Most recently Maris became known for playing Captain Erika Hernandez on Star Trek: Enterprise. Her husband, Tony Plana, had appeared in the earlier Star Trek spin-off, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She also played Sonia Garcia in the television comedy The Brothers Garcia for the full run of the series.
