Ada Maris (born in 1957 in California) is a Mexican-American actress. She was born Ada Marentes and has been married to actor Tony Plana since 1988. They have two children.

Career

Maris made a big splash on an episode of The Cosby Show playing the girlfriend of a community-center director played by Tony Orlando. This was supposed to be a pilot for a series centered on Maris and Orlando, but it was never picked up by the network. She then went on to play Nurse Gina Cuevas on Nurses for its entire three-season run in the early 1990s.

Most recently Maris became known for playing Captain Erika Hernandez on Star Trek: Enterprise. Her husband, Tony Plana, had appeared in the earlier Star Trek spin-off, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. She also played Sonia Garcia in the television comedy The Brothers Garcia for the full run of the series. Ada will be playing as Markko Rivera's mom Aurelia Rivera on One Life To Live beginning June 12, 2009.
